The whole concept of PEW is based on the principle: "Helping people to help themselves".
The children of today are the adults of tomorrow. In accordance with this insight, we primarily take care of the next generation. Numerous children are homeless, orphans, or are brought up from the streets and have a bad father image.
With PEW, we try to model the principle of a family under divine guidance. This includes community, provision, but also education.
The 3 pillars explained in more detail
First pillar
"Prayer" (PRAY)
"Casting all your cares upon him, for he cares for you. "(1 Peter 5:7).
Numerous worries determined the everyday life of many people - also in the Philippines. "What will I eat? Where will I sleep? What will I wear? Will I ever be able to survive by myself and when will I be loved? What is love anyway?" We direct the focus to God, who says to us to unload all our worries to Him in order to receive from Him.
PEW offers children's services every weekend. There, the younger generation is gently taught faith in God the Father. Through video presentations, memorization of Bible verses and loving games on the respective topic, as well as the opportunity to color pictures or solve puzzles, the youngest find interest and joy in the faith.
Once a week we offer a Bible study to give older children and staff the opportunity to grow in faith.
We facilitate pastoral conversations for every age group. People who are marked by experiences on the streets, fraud, attempted kidnapping, abuse or, for example, illegal business, need time to open up. PEW takes care of this group.
At regular intervals, the team visits the surrounding villages in order to offer a supply of food here as well. With this program, people become aware of our work and are reached for participation in church services.
We would like to make it possible for all interested people to attend a bible school.
Second Pillar
"Food"
During each church service, children receive food so that they do not go home hungry. We follow the example of Jesus, who fed 4000 and 5000 men at the Sea of Galilee. Are these not rather about 20,000 people, if one counts women and children? We follow the example and therefore offer opportunities for feeding parallel to church services and training courses.
Through times of need, such as during destructive typhoons or challenging quarantine measures, we expanded our feeding program in the surrounding BRGYs (local districts).
Third Pillar
"Work"
Creating jobs and getting people into work is one of the cornerstones of our organization. Because often no sense is seen in it and the lack of perspective and hopelessness prevails, people often lack the right understanding of work.
We have made it our task to give hope and to develop meaningful concepts on how to carry out our own work successfully and in a future-oriented way.
Young people who join our program must get their first job as soon as they are old enough and have finished school. We therefore strive to constantly expand our own business areas so that the young adults do not end up on the streets, begging, stealing or giving away their bodies for money.
